Provisional Suspensions In Force

A Provisional Suspension is a temporary suspension that may be imposed on a person who is subject to an investigation or disciplinary proceeding.

The provisional suspension is imposed prior to the final decision of a case at a hearing. Not every case involves a Provisional Suspension.

A Provisional Suspension does not in any way abrogate the presumption of innocence. An order for provisional suspension is not an early determination of guilt. Rather, it is an order which may be made on a precautionary basis to safeguard the interests of the sport.

In this section of the site, we list the Provisional Suspensions currently in force. Some of these cases remain under investigation while others are the subject of charges and will also appear in the list of Pending First Instance Cases.

In doping cases, a provisional suspension is mandatory following a positive test to any non-specified substance.
