First Instance Decisions
The independent IAAF Disciplinary Tribunal hears and determines all first instance disciplinary cases under the IAAF Anti-Doping Rules or IAAF Integrity Code of Conduct.
The Tribunal is chaired by Michael Beloff QC and has a panel of 54 tribunal members from 35 different countries covering all 6 areas recognised by the IAAF. The Tribunal secretariat is Sports Resolutions based in London.
This section of the site lists all First Instance Decisions that have been rendered since April 2017. It should be noted that the Disciplinary Tribunal (DT) is a new body and only has jurisdiction over matters occurring after April 2017.
Decisions made in this section before April 2017 have therefore been made by national level tribunals or by CAS.
The Disciplinary Tribunal produces written reasons for all its decisions and links to these decisions can be found on the list of cases below. Decisions will be removed from this list once they are no longer operative – for example after any period of ineligibility has been served or one month after the decision has been rendered, whichever is the longer.
